Route authoring

Terms of Use

The terms that apply when you use Rust Routes — the website at rustroutes.com and the game addon that pulls routes from it.

Last updated: 10 September 2026 · Version 1.0

Acceptance

By creating an account, signing in, or using the addon against this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

These terms cover this instance of Rust Routes, operated by Daily Grind Rust in the United Kingdom.

What the Service Is

Rust Routes is a tool for authoring movement routes for Rust game servers, and an Oxide addon that applies them. It is a hobby project, not a commercial product, and there is no charge for using it.

It changes how entities move on a game server you control. You are responsible for what you apply on your own server and for the effect it has on the people playing there.

Accounts & API Tokens

  • Keep your password and your API tokens to yourself. A token grants access to your routes — treat it like a password.
  • A token's value is shown once, when it is created or rotated. If you lose it, rotate it; if it leaks, revoke it.
  • You are responsible for activity carried out through your account or your tokens.
  • Registration may be closed on this instance. Do not attempt to create accounts by other means.
  • We may suspend or remove an account that is used to break these terms.

Acceptable Use

Use the service for what it is for. Do not:

  • Attempt to access another user's account, maps, routes or tokens.
  • Probe, scan, overload or disrupt the service, or work around rate limits and access controls.
  • Upload files you have no right to distribute, or anything that is not a Rust map file.
  • Use the service to break the law, or to breach the rules or terms of any platform your server runs on.
  • Automate the site in a way that degrades it for others. The addon's normal polling is fine — that is what it is designed to do.

Your Maps & Routes

Your maps and the routes you draw stay yours. Uploading them does not transfer ownership, and we do not claim any right to use them beyond running the service for you.

  • We store what the editor needs — see the Privacy notice for exactly what that is.
  • You can delete a map project from the Maps screen at any time; deletion is designed not to destroy your route history along with it.
  • Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. This is a hobby-run service, not a backup provider.

Availability & Liability

Rust Routes is provided “as is”. We try to keep it online and correct, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, and downtime, defects, or data loss may occur. Game updates can break the addon until it is recompiled.

Routes are cached on your game server so patrols survive this site being offline, but that is a mitigation, not a promise.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the service — including lost routes, server downtime, or in-game consequences of a route you applied.

Trademark Notice

Rust Routes is an independent, community-run project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Facepunch Studios. “Rust” and related marks are trademarks of Facepunch Studios.

Changes

We may update these terms as the project develops. The “last updated” date and version above reflect the current text. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are provided for clarity and fairness and do not constitute legal advice.
